SKATEBOARDING FOR EVERYBODY
COWTOWN’S 22nd Annual PHXAM was March 23-24, 2024 Fat Desert West Skateboard Plaza in Phoenix AZ. Some of the best female skaters on the globe showed up to shred, including Shiloh Catori, Zoe Zhang and Christiana Means.
Poseiden’s Ladies Day at The Berrics is an exciting and inclusive event celebrating the talents of female skaters and adaptive skaters. The lineup features a diverse group of top female skaters and individuals with disabilities, showcasing the inclusivity of the skateboarding community. Inclusive events like this break down barriers and promote diversity within the sport, providing a platform for skaters of all backgrounds and abilities to come together and share their passion.
Christiana Means’ new Icecream part just dropped and it’s en fuego. She filmed this post-ACL surgery, and as the title says, she made one helllll of a comeback.

The original four headed for the semi-finals were Christiana Means, Sammaria Brevard, Lacey Baker and Candy Jacobs. Sadly Portland’s hometown hero, Christiana, had to forfeit her spot because of an Olympic team commitment in the Philippines. So previous challengers Monica Torres and Chelsea Castro staged a “redemption round,” with Torres ultimately earning her spot in the final four.
Wheels of Fortune is a fucking juggernaut. I started going to this event 10 years ago, when it was a small gathering. Just the homies basically; a great excuse to get together, shred, see old friends and test your fate in Seattle’s fucked up traffic.
Secret to being a good host: In my opinion, the secret to being a good host is being present, genuine, welcoming and aware of the diversity in whatever event is being held. Meaning diversity in skill level, age, and gender making everyone feel like they are apart of a community equally. Oh…and a good host has to bring that HYPE! ?
